Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève 2026: Save the date for November 7

The Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève (GPHG) is set to celebrate its 26th edition.

A must-attend event on the international watchmaking calendar, the event will once again bring together key figures from the industry to celebrate the excellence, creativity and craftsmanship that drive contemporary watchmaking.

Once again this year, FGP Swiss & Alps is proud to support the GPHG as a main partner, thereby continuing its commitment alongside an institution that has been helping to promote the art of watchmaking around the world for over twenty-five years.

The 26th edition, marked by a spirit of renewal

The 2026 edition marks a new chapter in the history of the Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève. Several changes have been made to the rules to better reflect the transformations taking place in contemporary watchmaking.

Among the main new features:

• The creation of three categories: Essential Watch, Complication Watch and Jewelled Watch, which replace the former gender-based categories.
• The Iconic Watch Prize has also evolved and is now open to all eligible timepieces, including those not directly entered into the competition.
• The Special Jury Prize, meanwhile, may recognise a brand for a particularly significant development in watchmaking, in addition to the individuals and institutions traditionally eligible.

The Academy at the heart of the process

Nearly 1,000 members of the GPHG Academy are involved in the selection process. Having put forward several hundred models at the start of this 26th edition, its members took part in the first round of voting over the summer to draw up the official shortlist.

The next stage will take place in October, when the Academy will take part in the second round of voting, alongside the Jury, to determine this year’s winners.

The highlight of this year’s event, the 26th GPHG Awards Ceremony, will take place on Saturday 7 November 2026 at the Bâtiment des Forces Motrices (BFM) in Geneva. The evening will celebrate the creations, brands and talents that are shaping the watchmaking industry of today and tomorrow.
