Watches selected by the GPHG Academy presented in India

Geneva, 10 October 2022The first stage of the travelling exhibition of the Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève (GPHG) 2022 was inaugurated last night in New Delhi with great fanfare.

Watches shortlisted by the GPHG Academy were the centre of attention for watch enthusiasts this weekend in the prestigious setting of the Leela Palace in New Delhi.

The Indian Watch Days, which opened on the evening of 7 July with an official reception at the Swiss Embassy residence, brought together experts and collectors for a rich programme of meetings and debates organised by Ethos Watches, a partner of this 2022 exhibition in India.

“India is a fast-growing market destined to become one of the largest in the world. It is also gradually maturing to understand and appreciate the emotions and craftsmanship involved in making high quality mechanical watches. Ethos is very pleased and grateful that the GPHG has agreed to work with us to bring the exhibition of shortlisted watches to New Delhi for the 2022 edition. This is a unique platform for Indian watch enthusiasts to see the best of fine watchmaking and also for the participating watch brands to engage directly with India and the watch enthusiasts in this country.”

Yashovardhan Saboo, Founder and Chairman of Ethos Limited.

“The GPHG is especially grateful to be able to count on Ethos Watches once again to showcase the watchmaking creativity of 2022 in India, a promising market for years to come. Our mission is to promote watchmaking in all its facets, and the world’s largest democracy is a fertile ground for the development of its values of tradition, precision and innovation. We sincerely hope that our presence here will arouse the interest of watch enthusiasts and new generations”.
Raymond Loretan, President of the Fondation du Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève.

After New Delhi, the watches selected by the GPHG Academy will fly to Morocco, where they will be exhibited for the first time in Africa from 20 to 23 October in Casablanca.
These timepieces are in the running for one of the 20 prizes, including the prestigious Grand Prix de l’Aiguille d’Or, which will be awarded on 10 November in Geneva as part of the 22nd edition of the GPHG Academy .
