Geneva, 2 November 2022 – After New Delhi and Casablanca, the prestigious Musée Rath in Geneva will be the setting for the exhibition from 2 to 20 November of timepieces signed by more than fifty brands shortlisted by the Geneva Watchmaking Grand Prix (GPHG) Academy.
This exceptional exhibition, organised in partnership with the Musée d’art et d’histoire de Genève (MAH), brings together 84 watches and 6 clocks in competition, giving rise to an unprecedented dialogue with heritage works selected from the watchmaking collections of the Musée d’art et d’histoire (MAH) and the Musée international d’horlogerie de La Chaux-de-Fonds (MIH), a rare heritage that traces the long history of watchmaking.
As well as offering an extraordinary panorama of the watchmaking creativity of today and yesterday, this exhibition, which opened yesterday evening, gives visitors, and especially young visitors, the chance to better grasp the magic of watchmaking by taking part in guided tours, lectures and introductory workshops organised with the Geneva Watchmaking School thanks to the support of the Fondation en faveur de la formation professionnelle et continue (FFPC).
Selected by an international Academy – made up of more than 650 key players from the various sectors of the watchmaking industry – the timepieces presented are in the running to win one of the 20 prizes, including the prestigious Grand Prix de l’Aiguille d’Or, which will be awarded on 10 November this year at the Théâtre du Léman in Geneva on the occasion of the 22nd GPHG AwardsCeremony Hosted by Edouard Baer, the ceremony will be broadcast live on GPHG.org, Euronews.com and by our specialist media partners, as well as deferred coverage on Léman Bleu and Hantang Culture.
