Geneva, 2 November 2022 – After New Delhi and Casablanca, the prestigious Musée Rath in Geneva will host an exhibition of timepieces signed by more than fifty brands shortlisted by the Geneva Watchmaking Grand Prix (GPHG) Academy from 2 to 20 November.
This exceptional exhibition, organised in partnership with the Musée d’art et d’histoire de Genève (MAH), brings together 84 watches and 6 timepieces in competition, allowing an unprecedented dialogue with historical works from the watch collections of the Musée d’art et d’histoire (MAH) and the Musée international d’horlogerie de La Chaux-de-Fonds (MIH), a rare heritage that traces the long history of watchmaking.
This exhibition, which opened yesterday evening, not only offers an exceptional panorama of watchmaking creation of today and yesterday, but also gives visitors, especially young visitors, the opportunity to better understand the magic of watchmaking by participating in guided tours, lectures and introductory workshops organised thanks to the support of the Fondation en faveur de la formation professionnelle et continue (FFPC) with the Geneva School of Watchmaking.
Selected by an international academy made up of more than 650 key players in the watch industry, the timepieces presented will have the chance to win one of the 20 prizes, including the prestigious Grand Prix de l’Aiguille d’Or, which will be broadcast on 10 November this year at the Théâtre du Léman in Geneva as part of the 22nd org, Euronews.com and by our specialist media partners, as well as on Léman Bleu and Hantang Culture.
About the GPHGTheGrand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève (GPHG) was created in 2001 and has been supported by a non-profit foundation since 2011.
