Built in 1607 in the shelter of the Chalberhöni Valley in the Gstaad ski area by a prominent Catholic from Saanen fleeing persecution by the Reformed Church, this remarkable traditional chalet is unique. Its 4 centuries of existence are fully expressed through the multiple patinas of the woods that make it up.
Completely restored in 1994 and 2003, this jewel has been renovated with taste and modernity by a renowned decorator, while preserving its original character. With 650 m2 of living space and 2,247 m2 of grounds, it is one of the oldest chalets in Switzerland.
This idyllic location, close to the centers of Saanen and Gstaad, offers you a peaceful retreat surrounded by impressive panoramic views.
On the first floor, you’ll enjoy two reception rooms with fireplaces, as well as a large dining room, video lounge and cosy kitchen, with its 55 m2 south-facing natural stone terrace. A ski room, a bedroom with bathroom for the household staff and plenty of storage space complete this level.
On the upper floor, the sleeping area comprises seven bedrooms, including a large suite, and five bathrooms. The master bedroom is exceptionally spacious and boasts breathtaking mountain views. A vast living room adds to the already generous spaces, an ideal layout for different generations to come together without getting in each other’s way.
Several cellars, including a wine cellar, are located on the lower ground floor.
